Wireless

Darton College Students can now access the Internet using their own wireless network card on their laptop.

Wireless Access is available throughout the campus. As locations with poor coverage are found, we will make efforts to improve this coverage.

Wireless Security

At Darton College, the wireless client used secures the connection end to end and the entire session is encrypted.

Wireless Access Policy

Although a variety of 802.11b/g compliant wireless network cards may work on the Darton College wireless network, the only wireless card that is recommended by Darton College is the Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g card.

Newer Dell Axim handhelds have been tested and work on the wireless network, but Darton College gives no guarantee that they will work as future upgrades to the network take place. No other handhelds have been tested by the Office of Information Technology and there is no guarantee that they will work.
