Academic Advisement and Registration
When does advisement begin each semester? Depending upon your admission status, your advisement begins with an appointment with the Advising Center (C-217) or a mailed invitation with designated registration times. You are encouraged to see an Admissions Counselor to check your registration status well before your designated registration time. Caution: If you wait too long to complete admission requirements, you may not be scheduled for an Advising Center appointment and will have to register on designated registration dates.
How do I know what academic advisor to see? Depending upon your major, you will either be assigned a specific faculty member as an advisor or you will be assigned an office to go to for advisement. Undeclared students are advised in the Advising Center (C-217). Remember, all students admitted with Learning Support requirements must see a Learning Support advisor to be advised and registered regardless of the declared major (except Nursing and Allied Health majors).

Fee Payment Deadlines
If you do not pay your fees by the early registration deadline, your class schedule will be cancelled and you will have to re-register.
Senior citizens - (those admitted through the age of 62+ category) may register for academic credit on a space available basis without payment of matriculation fees.
Employees - those participating in the BOR tuition plan must register at the designated times and places. Contact the Office of Personnel at (229) 317-6720 for additional information.
Late Registration
Please note: A $25.00 late registration fee applies to students who late register.
To avoid the late registration fee, please register prior to the first day of class.
Pre-Registration
One week during each semester is designated as Pre-Registration week, and currently enrolled students may, at this time, pre-register for classes for the upcoming semester. Academic advisors are available at this time to assist students with their schedules, and each currently enrolled student is strongly encouraged to pre-register. Details concerning pre-registration and fee payment are distributed during the week of pre-registration.
Online Registration
Currently enrolled students (excluding Learning Support students) can register for classes by using the Banner Web (Online) Registration system. Currently enrolled students are responsible for contacting their Academic advisors and signing an Online Registration Disclaimer form prior to registering on Banner web. New students register for classes with the help of an advisor in their declared majors.

New Student Registration
All students (freshman, transfer and nontraditional) are mailed an acceptance packet which includes information about placement testing, orientation, registration, and financial aid. Please pay careful attention to all important dates and instructions in the packet. If you have questions regarding you status, contact the Office of Admissions at (229) 317-6740.
Online Courses
To take an on-line course you must be admitted to Darton College and eligible to register. Registration for online courses is done through the normal registration process. Online sections are in the regular course listings by subject.
Since all communication with the instructor will be electronic, students must be thoroughly competent at using e-mail and the Internet before registering for an on-line course. No class time will be spent on computer basics.
