The Darton College Office of Student Financial Aid can help you find sources to finance your education.
It is important to apply for financial aid as early as possible to allow for complete processing of your financial aid applications. We want to help you reach your educational goals. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed annually to assist in determining financial need using confidential information provided by the applicant. The Darton College Federal identification number to be used on the FAFSA is 001543.

What is Year-Round Pell?
2010/2011 Policy Revision
Recent changes in federal regulations, effective school year 2010/2011, now make Pell Grants available year-round for some students. The intent of this new regulation is to encourage students to accelerate the completion of their academic goals. Previously, students who attended full-time fall and spring semesters had no Pell Grant eligibility remaining for summer. With year-round Pell, students may now receive additional Pell Grant funding for summer semester if 24 non-learning support credit hours are successfully completed during fall and spring semesters. Students must also enroll in at least 6 credit hours for the summer semester to qualify. Receiving the additional Pell funds does not reduce the amount students can receive for the next academic year.
DARTON COLLEGE WILL CHANGE TO
THE DIRECT LENDING PROGRAM FOR 2010-2011
Darton College will be changing its process for obtaining Federal Stafford and Federal PLUS loans beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year. Darton College currently participates in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, in which students and parents obtain funds from private banks, credit unions and lenders. Beginning Fall semester 2010, Darton College will participate exclusively in the William D. Ford Direct Loan (DL) Program, in which borrowers obtain funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education. Eligibility rules and loan amounts are identical under both FFEL and DL programs.
Visit the Direct Loan Program page for a list of questions related to the Direct Loan Program that should help students and parents understand how this program will serve them.
Attention First Time
Student Loan Recipients
If you are a first time loan recipient at Darton College,
your student loan will not post to your account
until 30 days after the first day of class.
These new changes are mandates from the
Department of Education. No exceptions will apply.
